Well the 22nd of January 2012 was a cool overcast and showery day. A lot of people put off beach trips and other summer activities. Although many events went ahead the weather took the gloss of them. Car races with a wet track made it a different type of event with lots of bumps evident as drivers fought the wet tracks.
200,000 People come out for All Black Parade
Almost a quarter of a million people came to the ticker tape parade in Auckland. great weather, great crowd, great reason to celebrate – World Rugby Cup
New Zealand WIns Rugby World Cup
New Zealand has won the Rugby World Cup by1 point. France played well but could not find enough to make up the difference.
Australia Take third place in WRC
It was a torrid game but Ausie was too good for Wales. A lot of injury and and most of not all of the bench players were used. About 50,000 at the match.
Even More Money Spent on WRC
Today Auckland City Council approved another 5 million dollars spending on the WRC. Many people feel that spending is already way too high. Its the peoples money that they are spending.
Great Show In South Africa
We all need to be impressed with the World Cup in South Africa. A great show some splended facilities provided. New Zealand.

Two Great Sporting Wins
The All Blacks beat Australia on Saturday night and now hold the Tri Nations and the Bledisloe cups. Many people say that the changes away from the rotation policy have been a significant factor in the win.
For the first time in the history of the NRL the NZ Warriors have beaten the Melbourne Storm. What makes this a historic win is that a team qualifying in 8th place has ever beaten the top qualifier
I have a feeling that there will be a few people not at work Monday or if they are they may not be felling particularly well.
The Beijing Olympics Sets the Bench Mark
The Beijing Olympics are over and the Chinese need to be complemented for their effort, planning and resources put into the event. The wonderful and unforgettable opening and closing ceremonies will set a standard for all future Olympics to strive for. The quality of the venues the provision of all that was required for competitors and spectators was amazing. I am sure that every one involved must have gained a great deal from their experiences. The money spent on the venues will be a great asset to the city and to the country. The money spent will have long term benefits for China and for all associated with the event.
Will those who seemed to be hell bent on raising every obstacle they could and predicting a doom and gloom for the games, now stand up and apologize or perhaps even admit they were wrong? The marathons which many said could not run successfully were both great events with the men’s marathon setting a new Olympic record. No sign of any runners suffering adverse effects of pollution. The Beijing Olympics have clearly demonstrated that China has come of age and although there a still some issues that need to be worked on I am sure that China will work to see these will be resolved.
