After some days of on and off modem problems a tech replaced the wires under the house and we now seem to have a good connection again. Fingers crossed it will last for a while. It has been extremely frustrating as I could not check emails or get in line going ok now….. 
I only have the odd new idea but there is always plenty of other stuff
